Kid Sister aka Melissa Young is a rap artist based in Chigago. She’s collaborated with Kanye West, A-Track, Diplo, Infamous, David Banner, Estelle, had features in Spin, I-D, W, Flaunt, The NY Times (among countless others) and been nominated for a best female rapper BET award.

As Kid Sisterʼs live performance rep and press buzz grew, she signed to Foolʼs Gold Records, founded by her boyfriend A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs. A crucial break came when Kid Sisterʼs track “Pro Nails” got into the hands of Kanye West. The songs punchy synths and syllable-flipping rhymes prompted him to recorded an enthusiastic guest verse and make a cameo in the video. Naturally this set off a major label bidding war, ultimately ending with Kid Sister signing to Downtown Records.

In 2009 Kid Sister released her debut studio album – Ultraviolet. The album features producers such as dubstep artist Rusko, The Count and Sinden, XXXChange, and Disturbia producer, Brian Kennedy and the album includes a feature with British musician Estelle. The first single off is titled "Right Hand Hi", which is produced by Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso of house DJ group, Swedish House Mafia.
Her lyrical prowess sits in front a seamless fusion of elements taking from electro pop, Hip-Hwop, ghetto house and other uptempo sounds.
